Counseling Basic Functions The SBCC Academic Counseling Center Counseling Assistant supports academic counselors with a variety of projects and is the first point of contact for students who come to the Academic Counseling Center Front Desk.
Primary duties include:
Helping students to schedule academic counseling appointments and prepare appropriately for their session(s) Supporting students in navigating the community college system, providing referrals as needed Assisting counselors with the facilitation of college support services including various workshops and programs, e.g. Class Planning for new students
Representative Duties Work Schedule:
This is an hourly position to work no more than 19.5 hours per week and no more than 175 days per fiscal year. The position is on campus in person during hours the Student Services building is open. Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays 8:30 am
  • 4:30 pm Tuesdays 8:30 am
  • 6:00 pm Possibility of working some Fridays 9 am
  • 1 pm Opened until
Filled Education and Experience Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent combination of education and experience Strong interpersonal, organizational, and written communication skills Able to work well independently and collaboratively as part of a team Able to work confidently with diverse student populations and is committed to practicing and promoting inclusivity Experience with or demonstrated ability to learn new software and technology
Desired Qualifications:
