Tustin, CA Job Details Full-time $90,000 - $125,000 a year 13 hours ago Qualifications School experience Elementary Education Teaching Certification Principal Certification Working with children Working with middle schoolers Working with students Elementary school teaching Working with elementary school students Full Job Description Position Summary Serve as the chief administrative officer of an elementary/middle school to facilitate the development of a professional learning community; use data to guide decisions and improve student learning; direct the formulation and implementation of operational procedures and practices; plan, develop, and implement instructional objectives; design and implement procedures to evaluate instructional program effectiveness; assist in planning and conducting staff development opportunities; plan, develop, and carry out public and community relations activities; perform other related functions as directed. Key Result Areas Support and promote the School's Philosophy, Mission, Vision, and Core Values Supervise, support, and develop Faculty and Staff in order to achieve goals outlined in the School's Philosophy, Mission, Vision, and Core Values Essential Duties Support the curriculum development and instructional implementation of a standards based educational program designed to meet the unique needs of students and community. Work closely with school staff and the School Board to identify instructional goals; develop long- and short-range plans to improve the instructional process. Maintain and utilize student and staff performance evaluation information to ensure site goals and objectives are achieved Work to establish a results-based school culture through the continuous collection, examination and use of data; initiate ongoing opportunities for teachers, students, and parents to understand and utilize data as a means to improve instruction and learning. Plan, develop, organize, and administer support systems and intervention programs which optimize the learning opportunities for all elementary/middle school age pupils (regular, ELL, and special education students). Review, evaluate, requisition, purchase, and allocate instructional resources, supplies, and equipment to enhance programs and support school-wide goals. Confer and consult with school and school board, parents, and pupils pertaining to academic and behavioral issues and establish alternative interventions. Direct, supervise, observe, assess, and evaluate site personnel performance. Ensure that all levels of staff adhere to educational and professional standards. Establish and maintain teamwork, collaboration, and a collegial working environment Confer with instructional and support personnel in developing alternative solutions to unusual or unforeseen problems. Participate in budget planning activities, and develop expenditure review and control procedures to insure a cost beneficial and cost effective operational mode. Assume a leadership role in the functions and activities of site and advisory committees and groups. Assist the educational community in understanding school goals and objectives, and the strategies utilized for achieving them. Participate in the planning, development, implementation, interpretation, and administration of policies, rules, and regulations, and negotiated employee agreements. Supervise, direct, and coordinate the assignment of instructional personnel and student classroom assignments. Plan, develop, and provide management reports pertaining to the functions, activities, and general educational climate of the school facility. Confer with the school board in resolving rights disputes which may include the conduct of formal hearings. Assist in the conduct of effective and efficient personnel management systems, including the recruitment, selection, retention, and separation of personnel.
Position Requirements Spiritual:
Affirms that, as part of the qualifications for this position, he/she is a Christian who knows the Lord Jesus Christ as Savior. (John 3:3, 1 Peter 1:23). Gives testimony that teaching and/or working with children is a calling, and that working in this Christian school is God's direction. Manifests by precept and example the highest Christian virtue and personal decorum, serving as a Christian role model (1 Timothy 4: 12) Accepts without verbal or mental reservations the Statement of Faith, the Philosophy of Education, and Mission Statement of this school and church and is committed to upholding them.
Education:
Possession of a California credential authorizing service in an elementary and middle school school; equivalent to the completion of a Master of Arts or higher degree in educational administration, elementary education, instructional technology, or a closely related field.
Experience:
Five years of successful elementary teaching experience, at least two years of proven success as a teacher leader or co-administrator.

Principles, techniques, strategies, goals, and objectives of private education; philosophical, economic, and legal aspects of public education; procedures, methods, and strategies of organization, management, and supervision; modern innovative and creative curriculum and instructional trends regarding the elementary age child; curriculum development, instructional program delivery strategies and program supervision, assessment, and evaluation; result and performance evaluation techniques pertaining to program and personnel performance effectiveness; human relations strategies, conflict resolution strategies, and team building principles and techniques.
Ability to:
Direct, lead, and coordinate the multifaceted functions and activities of an elementary/middle school facility; demonstrate effective instructional, organizational, and administrative leadership; analyze problems, determine alternative solutions, and make appropriate and effective decisions; communicate effectively in oral and written form; plan, develop, and maintain effective organizational and community relationships; comply with the District's customer service standards, as outlined in Board Policy.
