Student Success Coordinator-Mosaic Lounge Multicultural Center Visalia, CA Job Details Full-time $79,997 - $107,120 a year 2 days ago Benefits Flexible schedule Qualifications Student record keeping Mid-level Community outreach Budget management in education Academic program coordination Practicing budget management in an educational setting Workshop facilitation Leadership Full Job Description JOB Under the direction of the Director, Student Success, the Student Success Coordinator will be assigned to the District's disproportionately impacted groups and will employ best practices in an effort to increase student success. These practices include but are not limited to the following: regular and frequent contact with all students under their assignment; logging/tracking individual student progress/records; flexible work hours, including evening and weekend, and planning and tracking relevant budgets and expenditures.

The Student Success Coordinators will meet with students to create an academic engagement plan, set goals, and share resources to help students achieve their objectives within and beyond the classroom environment. The Student Success Coordinators will provide leadership in the Student Success Program through outreach to students and campus partners.

The following position reports to the Director, Student Success, with the primary assignment to work full-time supporting disproportionately impacted student populations as identified through institutional equity data, with a focused emphasis on LGBTQ+ and Native American students at the Visalia Campus, Mosaic Lounge (Multicultural Center), a new space on campus with the following vision statement: You belong here! The COS Mosaic Lounge is your space, a vibrant multicultural resource hub that affirms historically underserved and underrepresented communities. We uplift intersectional identity exploration, critical reflection, and dialogue while promoting allyship, pride, cultural understanding, and student leadership. The space celebrates a mosaic of voices and experiences - empowering students to lead, connect, and thrive.

This position is assigned to the Visalia Campus and is a Full-Time 12-month position. Monday - Friday, 7:45 a.m. - 4:45 p.m.

EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
In additional to, and related to, services provided
COS Counselors:
Identify and track students by disproportionately impacted groups. Coordinate an academic success program for students while promoting an environment of academic excellence and promoting student success and retention. Coordinate between instructors, student services staff, counselors, and administrators to enhance the academic success of students. Facilitate appropriate responses to student Early Alerts. Administer a regular schedule of recurring student meetings to address student needs. Record attendance and individualized comments for each student after each session. Document progress, goals, to-do list, and any other information requiring follow-up. Maintain accurate and confidential records of every student interaction including in-person visits, phone, and online consultations. Through professional development, provide active leadership on current issues and trends related to college students' academic success and retention. Facilitate academic success presentations and workshops to various campus partners. Oversee and develop reports to assist in the assessment of the Student Success Program. Other duties as assigned including night/weekend assignments, group meetings, and off-campus outreach.
