At the present time vacancies exists for two full-time, 200-day Brandywine Virtual Academy Student Advisors at the Chester County Intermediate Unit. SUMMARY OF POSITION
To be the main point of contact for students in the Brandywine Virtual Academy. This position communicates with students, families, & school district partners to help them understand the program and maneuver through the BVA systems. This position is also responsible for understanding the supports needed for students to be successful in their online learning. ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Student Support
Monitor and communicate student progress to stakeholders
Resolve student questions by connecting the student with supporting resources
Teach students self-advocacy skills
Help students learn how to communicate curriculum questions to their teachers
Ensure students and stakeholders understand student progress
Help with low level technical issues and escalate when necessary
Promote BVA/PVA resources, events, and activities
Refer students to academic and attendance interventions
Assist students and families through the orientation process
Maintain ongoing regular contact with students, families, and districts
Maintain a Virtual Office presence as needed
Support homeroom/advisory responsibilities per district or BVA request
Maintain a safe and supportive environment for students to thrive and engage onsite at BVA/PVA locations
Achieve proficiency in Learning Management Systems, Student Information Systems, and other district/BVA supported technologies
Perform other tasks as requested by the Student Support Liaison Family & District Support
Communicate with families and district personnel to answer their questions regarding the program to include virtual meetings, in-person orientations, and traditional forms of communication (phone/email/messaging apps)
Explain student data and how to check students' grades and progress
Highlight student achievement & escalate concerns when appropriate
Support student-centered activities to include newsletters and clubs
Communicate important dates for district testing (PSSA's, SAT's, etc.)
Participate in district partner meetings
Attend student-teacher conferences as requested
Assist districts with course selection
Work with registrars and districts to quality check student enrollments
Support families and districts with academic and attendance interventions ESSENTIAL JOB SKILLS

Education and Experience
Bachelor's Degree in education or related field
Experience as an instructional assistant or teacher preferred
Experience troubleshooting computer- and technology-related issues preferred

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures and software manuals
Ability to write effective reports, correspondence, and procedure manuals
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from supervisors, staff, students, and parents
Basic Math & Computational Skills
Ability to apply basic mathematical concepts in the performance of routine assignments
Technical Skills
Strong technical aptitude and problem-solving skills
Ability to work as part of a technical and educational team, coordinating work with others and escalating requests as necessary
Ability to troubleshoot Tier 1 technical issues
Knowledge of PC and Mac operating systems
Reasoning Ability
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
Ability to apply sound judgment to resolve conflicts and solve problems.

(2026-2027)
Project; Band 11, 200-day calendar $25.19-$31.49/hr, based on experience Schedule:
200 days per year (summer off)
7.5 hours per day/ 5 days per week Location:
