Principal - Honor Charter School, A Marzano Academy (HCSMA)
About the Role Honor Charter School, A Marzano Academy (HCSMA), is seeking a strong, student-centered Principal to lead our K-8 school. This role combines instructional leadership with operational oversight and offers the opportunity to build a high-performing school grounded in personalized, competency-based learning. The Principal partners closely with the Board of Directors and leads all aspects of the school, including academics, staff development, culture, and compliance. What You'll Do Lead the School Serve as the primary leader, ensuring a safe, structured, and positive school environment Build a strong culture of trust, accountability, and high expectations Drive Instruction & Achievement Implement and oversee the Marzano Academies Personalized Competency-Based Education model Monitor student progress and ensure academic goals are met Coach, evaluate, and develop staff Manage Operations Oversee daily school operations and ensure compliance with all regulations Supervise special education services and student support systems Lead scheduling, testing, and reporting Oversee Finance & Strategy Manage budget, financial planning, and resource allocation Ensure fiscal responsibility, audits, and proper use of funds Support enrollment, marketing, and long-term planning Partner with the Board & Community Serve as the primary liaison to the Board of Directors Communicate regularly on academics, finances, and operations Build strong relationships with families and community partners Qualifications Required Colorado Principal License (or in process) Master's degree in Education Administration or related field (or in process) 3+ years of school leadership experience 5+ years of K-12 teaching experience Preferred Background in competency-based education Experience with the Marzano Academies model or similar personalized learning frameworks Knowledge of charter school operations and compliance What We're Looking For Strong, confident leader who builds teams and culture Ability to motivate staff and students to perform at a high level Excellent communication and organizational skills Financial and operational awareness Comfortable working independently and making sound decisions Benefits Health, dental, and vision insurance Retirement plan Paid time off Professional development opportunities Why Join HCSMA Founding leadership opportunity with real influence and impact Work alongside the Marzano Academies network and model Help shape a school grounded in competency-based education Collaborative partnership with an engaged
