111 E. 26th Street, Greeley, CO Salida del Sol Academy is a K-8 dual language public charter school with about 660 students.
Job Description:
Salida del Sol Academy is seeking a dynamic principal who is committed to and knowledgeable about dual language education. SDSA is dedicated to using a Dual Language program methodology. While this position is K-8 with duties across all grade levels, a primary focus will be on K-4 instruction, coaching, assessment, and planning. The principal will perform administrative duties that promote an exemplary educational program by demonstrating a strong commitment to school improvement goals that foster student learning, high levels of achievement, and collaborative work that support student plans, encourage creativity and innovation, and support teacher autonomy; develop teaching teams; and nurture collegial relationships. The principal must promote positive relationships among the community, the school's clientele, and stakeholders. The principal would be on the administrative team with the executive director, a budget manager, two principals, and a dean of Students.
Minimum qualifications:
A Colorado Principal or Administrative license is required. Candidates must have at least 3-5 years of experience in school administration. A certification to evaluate teachers is required or must be obtained upon hire. Bilingual (English/Spanish) candidates are strongly preferred and will be given priority.
Responsibilities and qualifications include:
While this position is K-8 with duties across all grade levels, a primary focus will be on K-4 instruction, coaching, assessment, and planning. An understanding and commitment to learning the Dual Language methodology (DLTI Gomez & Gomez) A deep understanding of restorative practices for positive behavior support Knowledge and commitment to site-based/shared decision making Knowledge of Special Education, 504 plans, and the MTSS process Knowledge of the Science of Reading, fundamental early literacy, reading plans, and developing numeracy skills with learners Demonstrated knowledge of Title I school requirements/regulations Continuous school improvement aligned with the SDSA Strategic Plan Creating a learning/working environment that promotes innovation and creativity Oversee and manage the educational assessment process and data collection Experience and demonstrated skill in the evaluation and assessment of teacher performance, and knowledge of clinical supervision Oversight and participation in the design, implementation, evaluation, adaptation, and improvement of curriculum and student activities in concert with the staff and educational goals of the school Ability to effectively prioritize tasks and problem-solve Ability to establish and maintain an ongoing productive communication with parents, staff, students, and all community members Promotion of the establishment of a productive, safe environment for all Administering the effective use of human, material, and financial resources Leading, supporting, and guiding the office staff to manage the enrollment processes Support in the recruiting, hiring, and supervision of highly qualified staff Preparing such reports as may be required to keep the Executive Director and Board of Directors informed of student achievement and school events Demonstrating excellence in writing and communication skills in English and Spanish With staff input, planning, implementing, and evaluating differentiated professional growth activities for faculty and support personnel Implement, communicate, and observe board policies and administrative procedures Attending all Board of Directors meetings Serving member of the School Accountability Committee and Calendar Committee Establishing and ensuring student attendance procedures and assuming responsibility Shows strong collaboration, enthusiasm, and ability to work alongside the other principal, the Executive Director, and staff Seeks input to help revise handbooks and codes of conduct as needed Will develop daily schedules for staff and students with input from the executive director, faculty, and staff as appropriate Performing other duties as assigned

Salary Range and Work Year :
$112,766- $165,666. This position is a full-time (218.5 days starting on July 13. The salary is competitive and negotiable based on experience and qualifications. Benefits include health insurance, paid time off, and sick leave. SDSA is a member of PERA.
