Placement on the appropriate degree lane and salary step in accordance with Newtown Federation of Teachers' contract linked here The Program for Adaptive Learning (PAL) Student Services Coordinator supports the implementation of evidence-based instructional and behavioral practices while assisting staff in maintaining compliant, organized, and student-centered special education programming in conjunction with the Assistant Principal. This role serves as a collaborative support to the PAL team through coaching, consultation, systems coordination, facilitation of team processes, and oversight of special education timelines and documentation requirements.

The PAL Student Services Coordinator:
Provides a full range of school-based psychological services to students enrolled within PAL. Conducts psychoeducational evaluations and assists with ABLLS assessments and write- ups for students enrolled in PAL. Assists staff in program planning and the development of appropriate instructional, behavioral, communication, and social-emotional interventions. Collaborates with special education teachers, BCBA staff, related service providers, and administration to support cohesive and effective student programming. Provides coaching and support to staff regarding the development of meaningful and compliant IEPs. Assists staff in utilizing assessment data to guide instructional planning, intervention development, and student programming decisions. Supports staff in the development and implementation of effective data collection and progress monitoring systems. Schedules and facilitates PAL data reviews, Professional Learning Community (PLC) meetings, and PPT meetings. Supports effective utilization of PLC time to strengthen collaboration, problem-solving, instructional planning, and compliance practices. Ensures compliance with special education timelines, meeting requirements, documentation expectations, and procedural safeguards for PAL students. Assist with responding to behavior support calls.
Newtown Public Schools Qualifications:
Current Connecticut State Department of Education Certification as a School Psychologist (072) required. Connecticut Intermediate Administrator/Supervisor Certification (092) preferred. Experience working with students with complex behavioral, communication, developmental, and/or social-emotional needs preferred. Experience facilitating multidisciplinary collaboration, special education compliance, and instructional support preferred. Leadership experience preferred.
