Qualifications:
Successful experience as a district-level leader. Record of innovative leadership in special education and pupil personnel services. Develop and implement a long-term vision for special education, inclusive practices, and specialized support services that align with the district's mission. Commitment to ensuring excellent academic programs with high expectations for all students Strong knowledge of state and federal special education laws. Demonstrated strategic planning, budget development and grant management. Knowledge of evidence-based decision making protocols. Leadership in effective professional development programs. Strong public presentation skills and writing skills. Record of Pk-12 special education program improvement with positive measurable outcomes. Skilled in research and analysis of global, national, and state best practices in special education programming and disabilities as well as experience applying them at the district level. Ability to lead, inspire and collaborate with faculty and staff. Skilled in staff recruitment, supervision and evaluation. Record of successful communication and partnership with parents, Board of Education and community members. Excellent data analysis, communication, and organizational skills. Strong work ethic, enthusiasm, intellectual curiosity, and sense of humor.
Examples of Administrative Duties:
Directs Pk-12 reviews of special education and pupil personnel services and leads development and implementation of new programs and initiatives. Coordinates homebound/hospitalized instruction services. Serves as School Climate Coordinator. Acts as McKinney-Vento, as well as district custodian of records. Develops and implements the district's special education professional development plan. Oversees assessments of program effectiveness and student progress; reports results to the Board of Education and the community. Recruit, mentor and evaluate all special education and pupil personnel staff. Responsible for oversight of the district's Extended School Year (ESY) program. Develops and allocates staffing and budget resources for curriculum, assessment and professional development. Work collaboratively with Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction to ensure that all students, including those with IEPs, have access to high quality instruction and pathways. Partner with the Superintendent and other cabinet members on matters related to the District priorities and initiatives. Salary Depending On Administrative Experience
