General Statement:

The primary role of the High School Department Head position is to provide leadership to the department and serve as a liaison with administration in order to improve and enhance the effectiveness of the delivery of instruction, to create professional development as it relates to the subject area, and support teachers within the department.

CSDE Educator Certification Requirements:

CT CSDE educator certification endorsed in department content area CT CSDE educator certification endorsed for Department Chairperson (105) or Intermediate Administration or Supervision (092). See job description attached at the top of the posting for:

Major Responsibilities Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Qualifications Note:

Teachers dually certified in TESOL, Bilingual Education or ESL, with experience in Sheltered Instruction or fluency in a language other than English, will be given preference for all Stamford Public School positions.
