Job Description

Chase Academy is seeking a student-centered Assistant Principal to join our leadership team. Chase Academy is a STEAM-themed nationally recognized interdistrict magnet school serving students from 30+ towns in grades 6-10, expanding 6-12 by 2027-28. The ideal candidate will hold a valid 092 Intermediate Administration and Supervision certification and demonstrate strong instructional leadership, a commitment to restorative practices, and a data-informed approach to school improvement. Preference will be given to candidates with high school teaching experience and a proven record of supporting academic achievement and inclusive school culture.
Key Responsibilities:
Instructional Leadership:
Support the development and implementation of rigorous and purposeful, standards-aligned instruction. Lead professional learning, instructional rounds, and data team processes to improve teaching and learning.
Data-Driven Decision Making:
Analyze academic and behavioral data to identify trends, monitor progress, and drive improvement efforts. Collaborate with staff to set measurable goals aligned to the school's mission and Portrait of a
Graduate School Climate and Restorative Practices:
Promote a positive school climate through the implementation of restorative practices and equitable disciplinary procedures. Lead student support systems that prioritize reflection, accountability, and relationship-building.
Staff Supervision and Evaluation:
Observe and evaluate certified and non-certified staff in accordance with agency policies. Provide meaningful feedback to support professional growth and high performance.
Student Support and Engagement:
Partner with teachers, counselors, and families to support student success. Monitor attendance, behavior, and academic data to ensure all students are on a path to achievement.
Collaboration and Communication:
Foster positive relationships with families, students, and staff. Serve as a visible and supportive presence across the school community. Valid Connecticut 092 Intermediate Administration and Supervision certification Demonstrated excellence in instructional leadership and teacher development Experience with restorative practices and student-centered discipline Data-literate with ability to drive strategic planning and continuous improvement High school experience preferred, with strong understanding of adolescent development Commitment to equity, inclusion, and culturally responsive practices Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills Salary pro-rated based on Start Date
