Summary:
The Principal will serve as the instructional leader, overseeing all aspects of the school programs, and maintaining a safe and effective school environment. The Principal is responsible for developing and supervising a talented team of teachers and a variety of school personnel, offering guidance and support to enhance their job effectiveness and professional growth. This individual will oversee the instructional programs, school culture and climate, manage key initiatives, and select and evaluate personnel. He or she will demonstrate leadership to ensure high standards of instruction, compliance with all district, state and federal policies, and be responsible for the success of all instructional programs and school activities.
Qualifications:
Must hold or be eligible for Delaware Certification in School Administration, including a passing score on the School Leaders Licensure Assessment 2 years of Assistant Principal experience, required 5 years of successful teaching experience (Elementary required) Must hold a Master's Degree in Educational Leadership or a related field Special Education Certification and teaching/coordinator experience preferred Possess extensive knowledge and experience of curricular and instructional strategies for elementary and middle school learners Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills Knowledge and understanding of district policies and procedures Ability to work collaboratively with staff, students, families, and community members Commitment to continuous improvement and achieving high levels of academic and developmental success for all students
Job Duties:
Motivate staff and students to achieve district and school goals Serve as the Instructional Leader for the school, creating a culture of continuous improvement and academic excellence Coordinate all aspects of school programs, ensuring alignment with district and state standards Provide leadership to staff and students in the maintenance of a safe, clean, and orderly school facility Conduct timely performance evaluations for staff using approved state and district forms Enforce district-wide policies and procedures to create a positive and productive learning environment Manage the school budget, ensuring responsible and efficient use of funds Encourage the participation and support of the community by integrating the school's mission within the community and local organizations Collaborate with district leadership and other principals to share best practices and work towards district goals Perform other duties as assigned by the Superintendent
