Job Description

Housing Area Coordinator (HAC) is a 12-month, full-time, live-in staff member who is responsible for the overall management of assigned residential areas, including supervision of Resident Assistants, supporting Living Learning communities, serving as a member of the community standards team for low to mid-level cases, and serving on departmental committees. HACs are responsible for creating a climate that supports student success, personal development, and high levels of resident engagement. HACs will also support summer assignments related to conferences and events, summer session housing, and new student orientation. Due to the nature of the position, HACs are expected to work outside of traditional business hours, including participation in an on-call duty rotation. Responsibilities often extend into weekend and evening/early morning hours. Serves as a support for student programming, coordinates leadership opportunities, and manages Living Learning Communities. Must ensure confidentiality of student records in accordance with federal, state, and college rules, regulations, and/or laws. This position is ideal for a generalist interested in developing their talents, and working closely with intellectual students and staff on a small campus. A strong candidate is one who has innovative ideas, can multitask; works well with others, and can approach projects collaboratively towards the holistic development of the individual - academically, psychologically, and physically. All RHDs are partners in supporting students. While each staff member has specific duties and program responsibilities, the person who will thrive in this position is one who can observe and support students and staff effortlessly. Other duties as assigned Master's Degree or Bachelor's Degree in an appropriate area of specialization and two years of appropriate experience. Master's degree and experience in residence life/student services are strongly preferred
