DUTIES:
District Culture Strategically develop, implement, and evaluate actions to achieve the vision of the school and Unit 5's Strategic Plan Establish and sustain a professional culture of engagement and commitment to shared vision, goals, and objectives Create and sustain positive, collaborative, and productive relationships with families and the community for the benefit of students Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Ensures that each student has equitable access to effective teachers, learning opportunities, academic and social support, and other resources necessary for success. Serves as the building LEA and 504 plan coordinator. Build and maintain a safe, caring, and healthy school environment that meets the academic, social, emotional, and physical needs of each student. Instruction & Assessment Analyzes and evaluates student assessment data for the purpose of making informed instructional decisions in order to help students meets state standards for learning and district goals and objectives. Assumes responsibility for the organization, administration, and supervision of the instructional program within the school. Ensures that staff members design coherent instruction based upon knowledge of the subject matter, current instructional practices, students, and curriculum goals. Building Management & Student Discipline Implements the district discipline expectations that foster a safe and positive environment for all students and staff, in collaboration with the district-level administration Manages school budgets and accounting of all funds belonging to the school in compliance with district policies and procedures Communicates the condition and needs of the school facilities and equipment Hiring, Coaching, Feedback & Staff Evaluation Supervises and evaluates instructional personnel for monitoring performance, providing for professional growth and achieving overall objectives of the school. Recruit, hire, support, develop, and retain effective, diverse, and caring teachers and other professional staff and form them into an educationally effective faculty Learning Orientation & SIP Goals Facilitates all facets of the school improvement process to fulfill the school's mission, goals, and objectives and results in increased student learning while supporting Unit 5's mission, goals, and objectives. Implements Professional Learning opportunities for equipping staff with current, research-based practices Professional Responsibility Models professional, moral, and ethical standards as well as personal integrity in all interactions Establish schedules and procedures for the supervision of students in non-classroom areas (including before and after school). Communicates with a wide variety of personnel (e.g. parents, staff, students, other district personnel, public, etc.) for the purpose of providing information, problem solving and maintaining a positive view of the school both internally and externally. Leadership Leads meetings (e.g. building leadership, PBIS, etc.) for the purpose of coordinating activities and ensuring that outcomes achieve school, district and/or state objectives. Provides collaborative educational leadership support to teachers (e.g. communication, holding accountable expectations for high level staff and student performance, recognizing achievement and excellence, etc.) for ensuring optimal professional instructional performance and optimal student learning outcomes. Perform any other duties as assigned by the Superintendent.
QUALIFICATIONS
Must have valid teaching certificate, master's degree covering coursework required for certification, four years teaching and/or school administrative experience. A demonstrated commitment to school improvement. Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff in a courteous manner. Bilingual Preferred
COMPENSATION
Based on a 200-day, one year contract with performance evaluated annually in accordance with Illinois School Code and Unit 5 Administrative Procedures.
Salary Range:
$88,375
