The Student Development Office Coordinator provides administrative, operational, and customer service support for the Office of Student Development. This role supports the efficient functioning of the department through office coordination, student engagement support, event planning, student worker supervision, and administrative processing. The position contributes to promoting and enhancing student learning and development within the mission and community life of Covenant College.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
The Student Development Office Coordinator provides administrative, operational, and customer service support for the Office of Student Development. This role supports the efficient functioning of the department through office coordination, student engagement support, event planning, student worker supervision, and administrative processing. The position contributes to promoting and enhancing student learning and development within the mission and community life of Covenant College. Office Coordination & Administrative Support Serve as the primary front office contact for the Office of Student Development, providing welcoming and responsive customer service. Research and assist with departmental projects, including data input and preparation of reports for statistical or operational purposes. Maintain and update student records as required. Assist staff and students with Student Development communications, forms, and supply ordering. Process Student Development fines and administrative records. Compose weekly campus events emails and break communications. Assist with preparation for Student Development staff meetings, retreats, and trainings. Update the Student Handbook annually. Maintain Student Development storage areas, equipment, recreational supplies, bulletin boards, and shared student resources. Record minutes for Student Development presentations and Board of Trustees meetings. Assist Associate Deans of Students with planning and execution of Summer Institutes and Embark orientations. Process departmental requisitions, purchasing card receipts, and reimbursement requests. Student Programming & Event Support Plan, promote, and implement Student Development events and activities, including Student Life Breaks, Fall Fun Day, and Student Appreciation Day. Coordinate logistics and communication related to departmental programming and student engagement initiatives. SERVE Program Coordination Coordinate the SERVE service program and related student placements. Notify students and supervisors of SERVE assignments following orientation. Track conflicts, completion progress, and participation requirements. Deliver SERVE presentations during orientation programs. Maintain tracking systems and communication processes for student participation and follow-up. Communicate service opportunities and reminders to students throughout the semester. Place holds as needed for students who fail to complete requirements. Update and maintain the SERVE Student Handbook. Student Worker Supervision Train and supervise student work-study employees within Student Development. Initiate and oversee student worker projects aligned with departmental goals. Verify student worker time records in the employee portal. Complete evaluations for student workers as required. Data Entry & Administrative Processing Perform accurate data entry related to meal plans, housing assignments, fines, and student holds. Maintain organizational accuracy and timely administrative processing across Student Development functions. Perform other duties as assigned by the Vice President for Student Development to support the mission and operational needs of Covenant College.CORE COMPETENCIES

WORKING CONDITIONS
Work is performed primarily in a professional office environment with regular interaction with students, faculty, staff, and visitors. The role routinely uses standard office equipment and institutional software systems. Occasional evening or event-related responsibilities may be required during peak student programming periods.PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Required Minimum of one (1) to three (3) years of office or clerical experience. Proficiency with computer applications and institutional software systems, including Google Workspace and Banner. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Effective written and verbal communication skills. Ability to initiate and complete projects independently and collaboratively. Strong interpersonal skills and commitment to customer service. Preferred College degree. Experience in higher education or student services environments.FAITH & MISSION ALIGNMENT
