1. Master's Degree in School Administration. 2. Valid evaluator's certification. 3. Four years of administrative experience. 4. Leadership skills. 5. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable. Reports to: Middle School Principal
Supervises:
Middle School Staff/ Students
Job Goal:
To assist the Middle School Principal and the Director of Student Services to lead the overall development of an innovative middle school committed to engaging all students in learning a challenging curriculum delivered through quality instruction.
Performance Responsibilities:
Assists the principal in the leadership of the Middle School and the administration of policies. Serves as principal in the absence of the principal. Takes on a leadership role in all phases of the building level educational program in special education. Engages in and provides leadership for all initiatives and programs offered in the building (PBIS, Olweus, Leader in Me, etc.). Takes on a leadership role in all aspects of the district activity program as it relates to the Middle School. Proposes schedules of classes, and supervises the preparation of student schedules. Works with department teams and faculty in compiling the annual budget requests. Requisitions supplies, textbooks, and equipment, (i.e., conducting inventories, maintaining records, and checking on receipts for such materials). Assists in the conducting of safety planning, inspections, and safety drill practice activities. Assumes responsibility for coordinating transportation, custodial, cafeteria, and other support services for the Middle School. Supervises the reporting and monitoring of student attendance, and works with the attendance supervisor for investigative follow-up actions. Assists in maintaining discipline throughout the student body, and deals with special cases as necessary. Serves with parent, faculty, and student groups as requested in advancing educational and related activities and objectives. Performs such record-keeping functions as the principal may direct. In consultation with the Middle School principal, supervises teachers, departments, and activities. Serves as a district special projects administrator at direction of the superintendent. Other duties as assigned.
Terms of Employment:
