Job Summary:
The Production Superintendent oversees daily operations within the egg processing facility, ensuring that eggs are cleaned, graded, packaged, and shipped in accordance with USDA, HACCP, SQF and company standards. This role is responsible for managing production staff, maintaining equipment, and ensuring compliance with food safety and sanitation regulations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Oversee the 24/7 direction and success of further processing departments. Sets further processing department's objectives, including organizing tasks and projects for each department. Manages work processes in departments to ensure departments achieve consistent compliance with product and process scheduling. Establish staffing levels and staffing patterns to ensure 24/7 coverage in each department. Work with Human Resources staff to recruit, interview, select, hire, and employ an appropriate number of employees. Coach, mentor, and develop staff providing career development planning and opportunities Empower supervisors to take responsibility for their jobs and goals. Delegate responsibility and expect accountability and regular feedback providing effective performance feedback through employee recognition, rewards, and disciplinary action, with the assistance of Human Resources, when necessary Maintain transparent communication. Appropriately communicate organization information through department meetings, 1:1 meeting and any other regular interpersonal communication Manage the preparation and maintenance of reports necessary to carry out the functions of the department. Prepares periodic reports for upper management, as necessary or requested, to track strategic goal accomplishment and company established KPI's. Leads coworker training and follows through on Six Sigma, 5S, Lean Manufacturing, and Continuous Improvement initiatives. Reinforce and follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's) Make business decisions that are financially responsible, accountable, justifiable, and defensible in accordance with organization policies and procedures. Communicate regularly with other managers, president, and other designated contacts within the organization. Owns and develops operational safety programs that cultivates a safety 1st culture. Works directly with the Operations Manager on Process improvement projects Develop Strategies on Daily gameplan for Production team. Reports to the Production Manager on daily production yield, OEE, and designated KPI's. Other duties as needed.
Backup:
A trained designee will be appointed by management to cover for absences or vacancies; refer to Rembrandt Foods site-specific facility back-up matrix on file.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Preferred:
High School Diploma or GED (Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred). 3+ years of experience in food processing, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role. Experience with SQF or other GFSI scheme HACCP Knowledge
PCQI, HACCP & SQF
Practitioner Certification Strong understanding of food safety regulations and egg processing equipment. Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
