Leadership Teaching Full Job Description Fellowship Summary:
We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Special Education Director Fellow to collaborate with our team of Special Education Leaders and partner schools. This fellowship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in special education administration and leadership across the state of Idaho. The fellow will work closely with Bluum's Special Education Development Director Jennifer Ribordy to support the development and implementation of individualized education programs (IEPs), ensure compliance with federal and state regulations, and promote best practices in special education in Idaho's growing and diversifying charter school sector. This is a 1-year position designed to prepare the individual hired to transition into a special education leader role in one or more of our affiliated partner schools.
Key Responsibilities:
Work alongside experienced special education leaders to learn from and support administrative duties as assigned (including but not limited to): Assisting in the development, review, and implementation of IEPs. Supporting the coordination of special education services. Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other stakeholders across partner schools to address student needs. Participate in meetings and provide input on special education policies and procedures. Conducting research on best practices and emerging trends in special education. Help organize professional development workshops and training sessions for staff. Assist in monitoring and ensuring compliance with IDEA and other relevant laws. Program development and implementation. School-based Medicaid management and implementation. Supervision of school-based special education staff.
Qualifications:
Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a graduate program in Special Education, Educational Leadership or related field. Strong understanding of special education laws and regulations. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Passion for working with students with special needs and their families. 3+ years of successful teaching experience as a special educator.
