Principal - Title I Summer School (This is an hourly summer position. Summer School will be July 20-August 6 Monday-Thursday 5 hours a day with training the week before)II. QUALIFICATIONS
A. Master's degree or higher from an accredited college or university. B. Valid Idaho Principal's Certificate. C. Minimum of four years of full-time certificated experience working with students, Pre-K-12, while under contract in a school setting D. Completion of an administrative internship or have one year of experience as an administrator in grades Pre-K-12. E. Completion state-approved program, at least 30 semester (45 quarter) credit hours of graduate study in school administration for preparation of school principals at an accredited college or university. This program shall include competencies in the following areas: a. Leadership, ethics, and management of change b. All forms of communication, including technology, advocacy, and mediation c. Customer involvement and public relations d. Staff development and supervision of instruction e. School law and finance (including special education), and grant writing f. Curriculum development, integration of technology, delivery, and assessment g. Education of all populations, including special education h. Student behavior management/positive behavior supports/effective discipline i. Ability to work with students, staff, parents, and the public. j. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.III. REPORTS TO
Director of Learning and Instruction.IV. JOB GOALS
To support the delivery of School District 91's written, taught, tested and reported curriculum and contribute to maximizing student achievement. To ensure the reflection and communication of a positive image and attitude toward decisions and functions of the district as they relate to the public, staff, parents, and students.V. PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
A. Administers the total educational program in the summer school. B. Establishes and maintains an effective learning climate in the school. C. Supervises the guidance program to enhance individual student education and development. D. Establishes guides for proper student conduct and maintaining student discipline. E. Assists in the recruiting, screening, hiring and training of the school staff. F. Participates in the assignment of professional and classified personnel in the school and conducts evaluations in accordance with district policies and procedures. G. Plans, organizes and directs the implementation of all school activities. H. Orients newly assigned staff members and assists in their development as appropriate. I. Establishes and conducts a schedule of visits to the classrooms to ensure that an effective instructional program is being carried out to meet the needs of individual students as nearly as possible. J. Prepares or supervises the preparation of reports, records, lists, etc. required for the effective administration of the school. K. Establishes and maintains favorable relations with local community groups and individuals to foster understanding and to solicit support for overall school objectives and programs; to interpret Board policies and administrative directives; and to discuss and resolve individual student problems. L. Is responsible for the safety of the students. M. Maintains high standards of ethical behavior and confidentiality of student information.VI. OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

This is a part-time hourly position. Wages will be in accordance with the hourly administrator rate of $50.00. There is one session from July 20-August 6 with training the week prior. Summer school will be held at A.H. Bush Elementary. The position is scheduled for 5 hours a day Monday-Thursday. The positions are contingent upon student enrollment.VIII. EVALUATION
Performance of this position will be evaluated annually by the Director of Student Achievement in accordance with Board policy.
