Students will show academic and social growth through 21st century learning that empowers students to: Access necessary resources and supports Contributes to a safe and inclusive environment Be engaged citizens that model empathy and acceptance Actively discover and pursue their post-graduate pathway SUMMARY The principal will provide the leadership necessary to ensure an educational environment that is a safe, attractive, pleasant, and productive place in which to work and learn. And support the certified staff as they seek to meet the needs of each student. DUTIES Responsible for the overall administration of the school. Recruits, selects, and orients all new personnel. Coordinates substitute teachers. Evaluates student transcripts. Assists in the registration and orientation of students. Participates in the school and district-based staff development programs. Assists in maintaining discipline throughout the school and addressing special issues as necessary. Facilitates communication between school staff, students, parents, and the community. Participates in district-level meetings, programs, and staff development planning activities. Supervises and evaluates assigned certified and non-certified staff members. Enforces student handbook and assigns consequences for handbook infractions. Assists the leads professional development for staff. Prepares reports for district or other personnel as needed. Supervises students and staff. Supervises and completes the scheduling of all teaching assistants. Supervises extracurricular events as necessary. Attends and facilitates IEP meetings as necessary. Coordinates building 504s. Oversees alternative education placements. Conducts Drug sweeps of the campus in conjunction with local law enforcement agencies. Works with School Resource Officer on criminal investigations involving students and supervises DCFS interviews involving students. Performs other such duties and assumes other such responsibilities as the Superintendent assigns.QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum of a M.S. in school administration with a valid Professional Educator License (PEL) with the Principal Endorsement. Four years of previous experience in an educational setting, preferably in a teaching role. Knowledge of the Google Workspace for Education. Establish and maintain effective and courteous working relationships with those contacted during work (students, parents, and staff). Ability to understand and follow basic oral and written instructions. Ability to communicate to students, parents, and staff in an acceptable/courteous manner. Strong organizational, time management, and conflict resolution skills are necessary.SCHEDULING
Regular working hours are 7:10 a.m. to 4:10 p.m., Monday through Friday. The schedule may vary based on school district needs. Salary $85,000 - 95,000 - Education and experience will determine the final salary (210 days/year) Health, Vision, Dental, and Life Insurance Employee Assistance Program Tuition Reimbursement Retirement Benefits It is possible that the filling of positions and/or transfers may create vacancies in other positions.
