Position:

Director of Special Education Hinckley-Big Rock CUSD #429 is seeking a collaborative, student-centered leader to serve as Director of Special Education. This position provides strategic leadership, oversight, and compliance management for all special education programs and services across the district. Primary Responsibilities Provide leadership and supervision of all special education programs, staff, and services Ensure district compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations Oversee the development and implementation of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) & 504 Plans Support principals and staff in meeting the diverse needs of students with disabilities Manage special education staffing, programming, and budgets Facilitate professional development for staff related to special education best practices Coordinate with outside agencies, cooperatives, and service providers Lead problem-solving and student support processes Serve as a resource for families Qualifications Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with General Administrative endorsement Director of Special Education endorsement (or eligibility) Successful experience in special education teaching and/or administration Strong knowledge of special education law and compliance requirements Demonstrated leadership, communication, and organizational skills Compensation Salary and benefits commensurate with experience and qualifications Hiring range: $75,000-$80,000 205-day administrative contract
