Primary School Assistant Principal

Job Summary:

We are seeking a qualified candidate to serve as the assistant principal at Batesville Primary School. This candidate will serve as a key member of the school's leadership team. Please see the next page for detailed responsibilities.

Qualifications:

Education:

Master's degree in school administration or equivalent.

Certification:

Valid Indiana Building Level Administrative Certificate.

Experience:

Teaching and working with elementary students preferred. Some of the core responsibilities will include: Instructional Leadership Support high-quality instruction aligned to state standards and BCSC initiatives Assist with curriculum implementation, classroom walkthroughs, and instructional feedback Support early literacy, numeracy, and social-emotional learning initiatives Participate in data analysis to guide instructional decisions and interventions Student Services & Discipline Oversee and lead student discipline in alignment with school expectations Support MTSS, PBIS, and behavior intervention planning Collaborate with counselors, support staff, and special education staff to support all student needs Oversee crisis response and student safety procedures Special Education & Student Supports Support implementation of IEPs and 504 Plans in collaboration with special education staff Assist with case conferences and compliance requirements as assigned Coordinate services and support for students requiring additional behavioral or academic support Staff Leadership & Supervision Support supervision, evaluation, and coaching of assigned staff Assist with hiring, onboarding, and mentoring of new staff Promote a collaborative and professional school culture School Operations & Safety Assist with daily building operations, schedules, and supervision duties Support arrival, dismissal, lunch, recess, and transportation procedures Assist in emergency preparedness, drills, and safety planning Serve as acting principal in the principal's absence Family & Community Engagement Ensure that student attendance aligns with school policies Encourage parental involvement in students' education and ensure effective communication with students and parents Support family engagement events and school communication efforts Extracurricular & School Events Assist with the coordination and supervision of school events and extracurricular activities Attend assigned after-school events
