Perry Township Schools Academic Center Director of Student Services Position Purpose Provide a comprehensive service system to students from curriculum, to guidance, prevention, intervention, and referral services. Essential Job Functions Support and monitor guidance departments at all secondary schools. Supervise the implementation of guidance related programs
  • Naviance, etc.
Support high school graduation pathway process. Coordinate College and Career Readiness programs. Supervise School Social Workers. Coordinate students in transition and all related record keeping. Serve as the corporation McKinney-Vento liaison. Coordinate the expulsion process. Serve as corporation Title IX administrator. Coordinate Social and Emotional Learning K-12. Coordinate documentation of residency. Cultivate community partnerships to support student services. Seek grant opportunities to support student services. Coordinate the district United Way Campaign. Coordinate the formal complaint process. Facilitate the review and revision of the Student Rights and Responsibility Handbook. Regulate student service related compliance
  • Anti-bullying, child abuse prevention, etc.
Serve as District DCS Point Person. Equipment Use standard office equipment such as personal computers, printer, copier and fax machines, calculator, and telephone. Travel Requirements Travel to school district buildings and professional meetings as required. Pay Rate Administrative Pay Schedule. Work Schedule 260 days per year. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Thorough knowledge of School Counseling and McKinney-Vento. Thorough knowledge of federal, state and local regulations regarding student services. Considerable knowledge of the County and School Board policies, procedures and standards regarding education. Considerable knowledge of the ethical guidelines applicable to the position as outlined by professional organizations and/or federal, state and local laws, rules and regulations. Skill in assisting, developing and supporting staff. Ability to accurately interpret state and federal regulations and school policies. Ability to use common office machines and popular computer-driven word processing, spreadsheet and file maintenance programs. Ability to effectively express ideas orally and in writing. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships as necessitated by work assignments. Physical and Mental Demands, Work Hazards Seldom = Less than 25% Occasional = 26 to 50% Often = 51 to 75% Very Frequent = Greater than 75% Physical Requirement Percentage of Time Ability to stand or sit for extended periods of time. Occasional Ability to lift 25 pounds. Occasional Ability to carry 25 pounds. Occasional Ability to work at a desk, conference table or in meetings of various configurations. Very Frequent Ability to see for the purpose of reading laws and codes, rules and policies and other printed matter. Very Frequent Ability to communicate so others will be able to clearly understand a normal conversation. Very Frequent Ability to operate job-related equipment. Very Frequent Ability to reach in all directions. Occasional License/ Registration/ Certification School Administration License. Education Master's Degree. Experience Previous experience preferred.
