QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
Bachelor's degree in Athletic Leadership, Sports Management, Business Management, Education leadership or a related field; 3-5 years experience in management of multiple sports programs; experience in athletic coaching; athletic administration, feeder programs and student athlete mentoring programs; have demonstrated superior ability to work with peers, supervisory staff, parents and students; possess characteristics which represent a positive public relations image; have demonstrated a positive understanding of the educational needs of the high school age student; have demonstrated leadership qualities;
Preferred:
Building Level Administrator license; have a minimum of five years' successful teaching experience; To include the Assistant Principal title an individual must hold a valid building administration license.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Schedule all high school athletic events in conjunction with your head coaching staff. Schedules IHSAA approved high school officials for all athletic events. Hires high school athletic coaches. Evaluates head coaches on an annual basis. Provides professional development for high school coaches. Ensures that programs develop student athlete character as well as athletic skills. Oversees student athletic eligibility. Assists in building a
K-12 NAFC
Athletic Program. Analyzes capital project needs and submits recommendations. Oversees all athletic facilities, maintenance of fields. Develops, updates, and shares monthly facilities usage calendars. Coordinates transportation and accommodations for team travel. Reviews and approves yearly team budgets. Purchases all athletic equipment, uniforms and materials. Oversees the concessions sales at all athletic events. Ensures that concession stands meet health department guidelines. Facilitate athletic fundraising and/or corporate sponsorship activities. Adheres to and complies with all state board of accounts financial accountability measures as provided by the CFO. Updates athletic handbook. Updates coaches handbook; including all required education. Coordinates and assesses weight/speed/conditioning programs and sports medicine programs. Adheres to the pay in accordance with district policies and contracts. Complies with Title IX requirements are indicated by policies and/or the Title IX Coordinator. Communicates with parents and booster clubs. Attends conference and IHSAA meetings; stays current on information pertaining to school affiliation. Oversees compliance for the
IHSAA/NFHS.
Organizes and manages tournaments assigned by the IHSAA and the conference. Provides athletic event security plans. Represents school in the Hoosier Hills Conference meetings. Establishes and continues programs to highlight athletics for the school (i.e.the sports social). Assists the administrative team to make the school facility an attractive, pleasant, and productive place for working and learning. Organizes and oversees in-school club program. Supervises the building's driver education program. Approves all building-wide fundraising. Any other reasonable duties as assigned by administration.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. The employee shall remain free of any alcohol or nonprescribed controlled substance abuse in the workplace throughout his/her employment in the Corporation.
