Specific Duties:
1. Assist schools in writing, implementing, and evaluating the Comprehensive Improvement Plan. 2. Write, implement, and evaluate the district's Comprehensive District Improvement Plan in conjunction with the school plans. 3. Assist school committees in the selection and adoption of instructional materials. 4. Implement the school system's goals, objectives, and policies. 5. Assist the superintendent in the recruitment and selection of staff. 6. Ensure a continuous orientation program for substitute teachers. 7. Assume responsibility for the evaluation of certified personnel as determined by the superintendent. 8. Organize the district's review of the evaluation procedures. 9. Improve communication between the schools. 10. Meet regularly with principals to keep them informed. 11. Assume responsibility for keeping abreast of current educational trends through research and attendance of professional meetings and active membership in professional organizations. 12. Coordinate and evaluate the results of the district's state assessment scores. 13. Act as a resource person for teachers in curriculum materials. 14. Provide leadership in the development, implementation, and revision of curriculum for kindergarten through 12th grade in all areas of instruction. 15. Organize and direct the study of innovative programs for possible adoption by the district. 16. Assist in developing and revising an employee handbook including substitute teachers. 17. Assist in identifying and solving problems in the classroom. 18. Write, implement, and evaluate the Title programs. 19. Coordinate the district's extended school services program. 20. Coordinate the new employee orientation and onboarding. 21. Direct personnel investigations at the request of the superintendent. 22. Manage the certification and licensing of certified personnel. 23. Coordinate gifted and talented program. 24. Perform other duties assigned by the superintendent.
