CLASS TITLE
CENTRAL
OFFICE DIRECTOR/COORDINATOR
This position is for the 2026/2027 school year.
BASIC FUNCTION
Provide leadership and successfully administer district programs.
REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Remains abreast of developments and innovations in the field by reading current literature, attending professional society and association meetings and conferences, and discussing developments and problems of mutual interest with others in the field. Assists in the determination of types of program/curriculum/other needs of the schools and makes appropriate recommendations. Devises comprehensive and effective systems of record keeping in accordance with the particular needs of the individual's job and the policies, regulations and laws affecting the job. Prepares and submits reports and other documents as required by the superintendent, board policy, and the state/federal department of education. Works cooperatively with colleagues in integrating and coordinating individual efforts into a unified program for the district. Accepts and assumes responsibility for job pertinent duties delegated by supervisor. Reports on the status of district programs and services at the request of the supervisor. Develops innovative ideas and concepts and devises realistic plans and programs that may be adopted or implemented to execute those ideas. Prepares/administers budgets and is responsible for all fiscal operations that are a function of the position. Recommends to the supervisor policies and programs to improve district services. Conducts research and/or develops data gathering instruments to assist in assessing district and community needs and develops channels for swift, effective response to assessed needs. Supervises and evaluates staff as assigned. Communicates effectively to appropriate internal and external audiences. Creates a positive learning environment for high student achievement. Writes, manages, and/or collaborates in job pertinent, grant-related activities/efforts. Represents the school system by participating in community service activities, becoming a part of community clubs/organizations and attending governmental agency meetings. Is familiar with and incorporates the use of technology in daily tasks. Serves as a resource for the district and the community. Provides direct support to schools in implementing instructional programs. Maintains regular and predictable attendance. Adheres to the professional code of ethics.
