A Kentucky professional certificate for school administration and supervision.Position Summary and Goal:
Provides instructional leadership to staff including curriculum planning and professional development. Responsible for day to day building administration and the safety and welfare of students, staff and activities. Ensures a safe, pleasant and effective educational atmosphere, provides discipline when necessary and enforces school policy. Reports to SuperintendentPerformance Responsibilities:
Administers and supervises the educational programs of the school, to include the development, revision and evaluation of the curriculum. Supervises and evaluates all personnel assigned to school. Provides for appropriate supervision of students at all times. Maintains standards of student conduct as designed by the school council, and enforces discipline consistent with due process rights of the students. Assumes responsibility for the maintenance, safety and operation of the school building and grounds, including emergency preparedness, evacuation and crisis plans. Supervises the efficient and accurate maintenance of all required records and reports. Prepares the budget for both SBDM and internal funds, in collaboration with the SBDM council, and monitors the expenditure of funds. Abides by the Professional Code of Ethics for Kentucky Certified School Personnel. Meets the Standards and Indicators set forth in the Certified Personnel Evaluation Plan. Recommend, in consultation with the school council, the hiring and assigning of all members of the school staff. Develops and maintains positive community relations. Plan, supervise and evaluate the extracurricular program of the school. Keeps the superintendent informed of the school's successes, activities and issues. Adheres to the requirements of the District and school employee handbook, Glasgow Board of Education Policies, and all applicable laws and regulations. Performs any other functions deemed necessary by the immediate supervisor that are reasonable and covered by local board policy or law.
