March 25, 2020 SUMMARY The Director of School Performance is responsible for leading the direction and supervision of his/her assigned schools and their school leaders to ensure the academic growth of each student and the performance of each school. As a member of the Academic Affairs Division, the Director of School Performance partners with other directors to engage a vision of high academic expectations for every student and close the opportunity and achievement gaps between student groups; works to make sure that equity and the implementation of culturally relevant educational practices drive instructional efforts; and ensures the implementation of all instructional practices in alignment with the Louisiana Academic Standards.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Assists school leadership teams with planning and implementing effective instructional programs. Supervises principals and staff. Supervises the development of continued professional development for education leadership Conducts performance evaluations. Reviews and monitors school improvement plans. Prepares budget and monitors expenditures. Assists the human resources department in determining staff allocations and with interviewing and recommending qualified candidates for education professional staff positions. Coordinates and supervises assigned summer programs. Conferences with parents/guardians of students and resolve concerns. Performs any other related duties as assigned by the Chief Academic Officer or Superintendent. (These are intended only as illustrations of the various types of work performed. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Is responsible for the evaluation of school leaders and assigned staff. Carries out supervisory responsibilities following the district's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing and hiring recommendations; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
QUALIFICATIONS

EXPERIENCE
Must possess a Master's Degree and be eligible for a Louisiana License in Ed Leader1 or 2, or authorization as parish or city school supervisor. Must possess extensive experience in the field of public education to include classroom experience and supervisory/administrative experience, with at least four years of experience as a school principal. Must possess a comprehensive knowledge of the principles, practices, and current issues in the provision of public education programs, which must include budget planning experience. Must possess a demonstrated understanding of state/federal regulations and accreditation requirements governing public education programs. Must possess excellent leadership, supervisory, interpersonal, and communication skills. Must possess the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with parents/guardians, the community, and administrative staff.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret professional education journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from employees, parents, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to create presentations, write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or board of education.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret a wide variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS
Ability to plan, organize, and supervise the work of assigned personnel. Ability to work tactfully and harmoniously with schools, staff, agencies, parents, and/or the public. Physical stamina and emotional stability to work effectively under pressure and to keep all aspects of the job under control. Ability to hold records, reports, and conversations in confidence. Neat, well-groomed appearance.
