Team Chairperson Bridgewater-Raynham Regional School District - 3.8 Bridgewater, MA Job Details Full-time 12 hours ago Qualifications School experience Working with individuals with disabilities Special education law School legal knowledge Educational compliance and regulation understanding Classroom Teaching Disability rights laws Full Job Description The Team Chairperson is responsible for ensuring compliance with special education laws and regulations. This role involves managing the referral, evaluation, and IEP development processes for eligible students, as well as supporting classroom teachers in enhancing student growth and achievement.
Responsibilities include:
Assume responsibility for the implementation of referral, consent, evaluation, and placement/IEP development for eligible students Support the implementation of interventions for students identified as needing additional support by the IST. Chair IEP meetings including initial and reevaluation meetings Act as a resource person in the interpretation of special education procedures and structures. Support classroom teachers in problem solving, classroom management, and/or instructional techniques to support student growth and achievement. Perform such related assignments as may be delegated by the Principal, Special Education Administrator, or the Director of Student Services.
Requirements:
MA DESE Certification as Special Education teacher, School Psychologist or other relative licensure deemed appropriate by the Director of Student Services Experience with initial and reevaluation procedures for the Individuals with Disabilities Act Knowledge of Special Education law and regulations. Minimum of five (5) years teaching and/or administrative experience in special education.
