Job Goal:
Serves as the professional assistant to the Principal in the attainment of the goals and objectives of the school, with a focus on student support, guidance programming, scheduling, attendance, and the development of systems that promote student success.
Specific Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with the Principal to support the school's mission, vision, goals, and improvement efforts.
  • Oversee the Guidance Department, including academic planning, course selection, college and career readiness, and student transitions.
  • Lead the development and maintenance of the master schedule, including student and staff schedules.
  • Coordinate the Student Support Team (SST) process to ensure students receive appropriate academic, social-emotional, behavioral, and attendance support.
  • Monitor student attendance and work with families, staff, and support personnel to improve outcomes and reduce chronic absenteeism.
  • Support school policies and procedures that promote a safe, respectful, and welcoming school environment, including assisting with discipline
  • Visibility around the school at arrival and dismissal, passing times, and lunch.
  • Building relationships with students through attending after school events.
  • Use Aspen or another student information system to support scheduling, attendance, report cards, student support documentation, and discipline records.
  • Supervise and evaluate staff as assigned by the Principal.
  • Coordinate and/or support school-wide testing, including
MCAS, AP
exams, SATs/PSATs, and ASVAB.
  • Support budget and operational needs related to guidance, scheduling, testing, attendance, and assigned responsibilities.
  • Collaborate with counselors, special education staff, teachers, families, and outside agencies to support student success.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal.
