Aug 24, 2026 Job Description The Media Specialist is responsible for managing a flexible, multi-task learning environment for all students.
Qualifications:
Minimum Bachelor's Degree, Master's preferred; Certification in Library/Media OR MA teacher certification in any subject
Responsibilities:
Manage a media center that ensures inclusivity, maximum accessibility, efficient operations and is a multi-task learning environment that assists students and promotes equitable access to student supports Maintain a media center that is culturally rich in both digital and print material Support student literacy by identifying and assessing high interest materials, both digital and in print Empower students to be critical thinkers, enthusiastic readers, skillful researchers, technologically literate, and ethical users of technology Assume a leadership role in modeling and teaching the skills necessary to access, evaluate, and use resources effectively for teachers, staff and students Work with administration, teachers and staff to ensure that information literacy skills are embedded systematically and effectively throughout the school and district. Create activities and programs within the school and community to support an equitable, culturally rich school climate Oversee and monitor online financial literacy program Possible teaching assignment of up to two classes per semester and supervision of students participating in directed studies Assume other responsibilities per principal request
