To Be Determined Job Description The Quabbin Regional School District is seeking a full-time dynamic educational leader with a demonstrated commitment to student achievement and success to serve as the PK-5 Principal of Hardwick Elementary School. The ideal candidate should possess a vision for preparing students for a lifetime of learning, demonstrated student achievement results and focus on student outcomes, expertise in school wide academic standards and an understanding of the knowledge and skills required of students as well as the ability to develop a school budget that supports programs and innovation. Responsibilities include curriculum, instruction, and assessment; personnel and fiscal management; parent and community involvement in school activities consistent with district-wide goals; development and administration of the school safety plan; special education; student conduct and discipline; school office operations. Critical qualifications include:
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
  • A strong academic background including an advanced degree;
  • A record of exemplary teaching and/or school leadership;
  • Experience with data analysis strategies designed to improve student achievement;
  • Ability to support students with diverse needs;
  • Experience with teacher support/evaluation procedures, as well as familiarity with the evaluation procedures established by the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education;
  • Belief that every student, regardless of background, can and must achieve academically at high levels:
  • Ability to model for staff and students school wide practices for a positive learning environment where students continually learn to hold themselves to high expectations and to make decisions that reflect respect, responsibility, and safety for themselves and others:
  • Expertise in school wide academic standards and understanding of the knowledge and skills required of students;
  • Ability to develop a school budget that supports programs and innovation;
  • Demonstrated student achievement results and focus on student outcomes.
