Director of Student Services Minuteman High School - 4.2 Lexington, MA Job Details Full-time $120,000 - $150,000 a year 18 hours ago Benefits Dental insurance Retirement plan Qualifications Project management in education Writing skills Content editing Master's degree Team management Leading team collaboration initiatives Managing projects Non-profit experience Special Education Certification Full Job Description Reporting to the Principal, the Director of Student Services will assist the Principal in matters related to Minuteman High School. The Director of Student Services supports the Minuteman Technical Institute (MTI) as requested by the Superintendent. The Director of Student Services generally manages all student services for the high school and the MTI, and explicitly oversees the special education department, the guidance department, and the school health office.
Major Responsibilities:
Ensure that all teachers deliver high-quality instruction to all students, including those with IEPs, Section 504 Plans, English Language Learner needs, or other special services. Serve as the point of contact for McKinney Vento. Serve as the district's liaison for students in foster care. Serve as the district's Civil Rights and Title IX Coordinator supported by the Director of Human Resources and Compliance. Maintain current understanding of the requirements for compliance with state and federal laws and regulations. Oversee tutoring and other services for students who are home or hospitalized, including transitioning back to school. Evaluate programs, educators, and other staff, as directed by the Principal. Work with the Business Office and contribute to the development of the annual budget for Special Education, Guidance, Health Services, and other supplemental programming. Represent the district as requested/required at public meetings, parents, students, and other stakeholders. Assist the Principal on all matters of district matters/operations as requested. Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal or Superintendent.
Qualifications:
Master's Degree (Advanced Degree preferred) Licensure from the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education in Special Education Administrator, All Levels. Proven effectiveness in communication, translating ideas into concrete plans of action, creative problem solving, and project and team management required. Outstanding interpersonal skills and experience working with academic, nonprofit, government, and business sectors essential. Exceptional writing and editing skills. Ability to work collaboratively and effectively with a diverse set of internal and external stakeholders. Evidence of successful decision-making in a collaborative environment.
Additional Requirements:
This position includes but is not limited to: walking around the school, observing students while they work in their program areas, standing for periods, occasionally lifting and carrying items up to 50 pounds, reading documents, using a computer, listening and speaking, using office equipment, maintaining energy throughout the day, and handling stress effectively.
Terms of Employment:
Full-Time, 12 month position.
Effective Date of Employment:
July 1, 2026.

Compensation:
Salary range $120,000 - $150,000 prorated to date of hire. Eligible for health, dental, and retirement benefits.
