JOB GOALS
Assist the Principal in creating a positive and welcoming school environment that fosters lifelong learning, strong community and being solution-focused. The school climate should be one that develops a shared vision in achieving the mission, goals and objectives of the school and the district.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
The following responsibilities are performed in support of and under the direction of the Principal and Director of Pupil Services, as assigned: Assist principal by providing leadership in the delivery of instruction, including but not limited to clinical observation of teachers, coaching in methods of instruction, formal evaluation, and the development and supervision of plans of improvement when necessary. Chair all special education three-year evaluations; 504 meetings, as well as additional meetings as necessary. Supports special education with protocol and procedures (e.g., scheduling, staffing). Assist principal with student management and discipline with the student body. Assist the principal with relation to: assessing and improving teaching and learning; development of schedules; assignment of non-teaching duties; program evaluations; development of new programs. Assist the principal by coordinating discipline policies and practices throughout the school. This includes recommending changes in the student handbook on an annual basis, as appropriate, and the filing of such changes with the School Committee and Department of Education. Assist with coordinating the orientation of new teachers, substitute teachers, and student teachers. Maintain an active program of personal professional growth through coursework, workshops, seminars, conferences, and professional reading. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Consistent with current Agreement between the Longmeadow School Committee and the Longmeadow Education Association.

Salary and work year in accordance with terms of the Longmeadow Educators Association (Unit B) - Longmeadow School Committee Agreement.
