REPORTS TO
Director of Special Education/ Principals
JOB GOAL
To organize, coordinate, supervise, and evaluate special education staff, programs and services at the school level and assist in the continuous improvement of district services.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
Program1.Chairs initial and reevaluation I.E.P. meetings, in assigned buildings.2. Chairs I.E.P. review meetings when requested.3.Facilitates the writing of initial and reevaluation Individual Educational Plans.4.Communicates effectively with parents, staff and administration.5.Assists with the development of special service schedules within assigned buildings.6.Coordinates the home/hospital referrals, within assigned buildings.

Personnel7.Facilitates the effective use of special education staff.8.Provides guidance and support to regular and special education staff regarding the implementation of special education requirements.9. Participates in the supervision and evaluation of all paraprofessionals in assigned buildings.

Coordination10.Coordinates the Pupil Service staff inservice training in assigned buildings in conjunction with regular education activities.11.Meets regularly with the Director of Pupil Services to review program implementation and coordination, service delivery, and student and staff concerns.12.Coordinates special education services within assigned buildings.13.Faciilittes in building Child Study Team meetings.14.Attends and participates in building faculty meetings.15.Assists in the monitoring of out of district students.16.Assumes other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned by the Director.

Consistent with current Agreement Between the Longmeadow School Committee and the Longmeadow Education Association - Unit
