Elementary Assistant Principal•Roosevelt Salary per CBA (Collective Bargaining Agreements), $102,818.93 to $117,028.52Qualifications:
Appropriately licensed by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education in general elementary 1-6, pre K-2, and/or special education with additional licensure as an assistant principal/principal. Minimum of 5 years teaching experience Master's degree and/or CAGS in education administration Experience in curriculum development and curriculum modifications Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing Commitment to remain current in content knowledge and state and federal regulations Demonstrated skills in instruction, management, planning, decision-making, and interpersonal and community relations. Experience implementing positive behavioral interventions and supports. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent may find appropriate and acceptable. Successful completion of a Criminal Record Check (C.O.R.I.) and fingerprint check.Reports to:
Building PrincipalJob Goal:
Work closely with the School Principal, Central Administration Team, Superintendent Designee, and staff to create a safe, supportive, and responsive school environment.Performance Responsibilities:
Assists the principal in the overall administration for the purpose of complying with mandated requirements and meeting the mission of the school system in effective operations. Provide support to all educational programs including special education, and English as a Second Language in accordance with state and federal statutory and regulatory requirements. Uses data to improve teaching and learning of staff and students. Work in collaboration with the principal in regards to assignment, supervision and evaluation of teachers and paraprofessionals. Coordinate with the principal to develop and maintain a system approach to tiered intervention and instruction for all programs within the school. Provide educational leadership for both special and general education. Review, evaluate, and recommend scientifically, research based intervention and remediation curriculum in the areas of reading, mathematics, executive functioning skills and life skills. Assist with grant writing and management of grant funds. Assist with the completion of state and federal reporting (i.e., communicate with private schools, complete specified reports, administer needs assessments). Assists in coordinating transportation, custodial, cafeteria and other support services for the purpose of ensuring the effective and efficient operation of the school site for quality delivery of services to students and staff. Manages a variety of school administrative functions (e.g. student disciplinary policy, school/student schedules, reporting and monitoring student attendance, assigned personnel, etc.) for the purpose of enforcing school, system and state policy and maintaining safety and efficiency of school operations. Maintains high visibility within the school and communicates closely with students regarding their behavior and performance. Assumes full responsibility for the building and program in the absence of the Principal. Essential Functions of theJob:

Apply knowledge of Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks, current state standards and expectations, best and differentiated instructional strategies, and common assessment practices. Provide instructional and organizational leadership for the school. Promote an effective learning climate in the school. Support the school in adapting to the changing educational environment and implementing program improvements.Physical and Environmental Demands:
