IGNITE PROGRAM DIRECTOR!
Before / After-School Program "Inspiring Growth Nurturing Innovation Teaching Enrichment" One (1) Full-time Vacancy 40 Hours per week Monday through Friday with flexible hours
Contracted Salary:
$65,000
  • $75,000 Start date: As soon as possible.
11 month position: School Year position including the month of August for registrations
Definition:
Under the direction of the Superintendent and/or designee, the IGNITE Director will be responsible for the daily operations, supervision, planning, implementing, administration, leadership, and quality development and growth of our After School Program. Major emphasis on program excellence and developing quality care of the highest standards.
Supervision:
Works under the general supervision of the Superintendent or designee.
Essential Functions/Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Assists the Superintendent/designee in developing and maintaining high-quality after-school programming.
  • Supports Site Coordinators with innovative enrichment activities that support the district philosophy.
  • Assists in the recruitment, hiring, training, development, scheduling and directs personnel and volunteers as needed for programming.
  • Visit sites regularly to provide support, visibility and ensure programs are functioning at high quality levels.
  • Communicates with caregivers and school staff regularly.
  • Enforces and follows all policies set by the Department of Early Education and Care
  • Develops, manages and monitors assigned operating budgets to meet or exceed targets.
  • Recommends adjustments to the budget to assure a balanced operation and submit reports on current operations.
  • Develops and maintains relationships with the YMCA, school administration, caregiver groups, and other organizations and agencies related to assigned programs.
  • Pursues grant funding to offset operational costs.
  • Responds to all agency, caregiver, and community inquiries and complaints in a timely manner.
  • Maintains proper records/department files.
  • Prepares internal district accident/incident reports as needed.
  • Attends district-wide events throughout the school year (Open Houses, Kindergarten registration, etc.)
  • Organizes and facilitates staff meetings
  • Communicates with building administrators about concerns, injuries and behaviors of students.
  • Attends Superintendent cabinet meetings, as well as assumes general leadership responsibility at all times in the building, providing direction or guidance to members or staff outside your department.
  • Submits monthly budget variance reports to finance departments
  • Follows the DESE Quality Standards for Public School District Operated School Age Childcare Programs
  • Performs other work-related activities as required or as the situation dictates.
Confidentiality:
The employee has access to confidential information on a large scale, across departments, which may include student information, financial information and records.
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Business Administration or Management, and 2 years of work experience in project or program management.
  • Experience supervising staff required.
  • Experience working with DESE programs preferred.
  • Strong computer skills including experience with Microsoft Office products/ Google Suite and database management systems.
CPR/AED/FA
certification acquired within 90 days of hire.
Knowledge, Ability and Skill:
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with children, school personnel, parents/caregivers, families, community agencies and the general public.
  • Ability to maintain pertinent and confidential records.
  • Knowledgeable in IEP/504 educational plans, growth/development and the laws pertaining to child abuse.
  • Experience with Google and other applicable computerized software.
Recommended Minimum Qualifications:
CPR and First Aid Certification
