Springfield, MA Job Details Full-time $90,000 - $100,000 a year 1 day ago Qualifications Trauma-sensitive practices Student behavioral support Special education law Master's degree School legal knowledge Educational compliance and regulation understanding Parent-teacher conferences (communication methods) Full Job Description School Principal The School Principal is responsible for providing supervision and professional leadership to special education/ behavioral health school staff and for oversight of all aspects of the day-to-day operations of the school, including the educational content of the program. The principal is also responsible for ensuring that the school programs meet all licensing, accreditation, and academic standards. As part of the management team, the principal will provide administrative oversight, curriculum and program development, including scheduling and implementation of MCAS and other standardized testing for students. Additional duties include parent conferences, team meetings, hiring and staff retention, and ongoing communications with referral sources and D.E.S.E The Mill Pond Schools, with locations in Springfield and the Berkshires, serve students—kindergarten through age 22—who have social-emotional and/or behavioral challenges, a learning disability, or who may have a diagnosis of high-functioning Autism. We are committed to serving the whole child, including the child's family. Our goal is to assist students in developing the skills necessary to successfully return to a less-restrictive environment, and, ultimately, to their previous school setting.
Work Schedule:
Monday through Friday 7:30am-3:30pm
QUALIFICATIONS
Master's degree in educational field and certified in Special Education Administrator License preferred Minimum of 5 years of experience in special education or therapeutic setting, with at least 2 years of experience in a leadership role Teaching license preferred Strong knowledge of trauma-informed practices, behavioral interventions, and special education law Excellent communication, problem solving, and organizational skills Competitive Salary/Comprehensive Benefit Package Helix Human Services is an inclusive organization.
