Full-Time, Salaried Position Summary The King's Christian Academy (KCA) is seeking a passionate Athletic Director / Health & Physical Education Teacher to provide leadership for our athletic programs while teaching some Health and Physical Education courses for students in grades 6-12. This individual will play a key role in fostering spiritual growth, physical wellness, teamwork, and character development within a Christian educational environment. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, organizational excellence, and a commitment to integrating biblical principles into athletics and education. This position requires collaboration with students, parents, faculty, coaches, and the broader KCA community to create an athletic culture that honors Christ and supports student success. Qualifications & RequirementsEducation & Certification Bachelor's Degree in Health and Physical Education or related field Valid state teaching certification in the appropriate content area preferred ACSI certification or willingness to obtain certification preferred Experience & Skills Experience teaching middle school and/or high school students preferred Minimum of three years of leadership experience preferred Strong organizational, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills Ability to lead, motivate, and mentor students, coaches, and staff Willingness to participate in professional development opportunities
Essential Responsibilities:
Health & Physical Education Integrate biblical principles and a Christian worldview into Health and Physical Education instruction. Plan, teach, and assess engaging Health and Physical Education courses aligned with current educational standards while promoting healthy lifestyles, physical fitness, teamwork, and sportsmanship. Maintain accurate student records, monitor student progress, and demonstrate effective classroom management. Oversee and continually develop the Health and Physical Education curriculum for grades 6-12. Athletic Director Responsibilities Recruit, support, supervise, and formally evaluate coaches and athletic staff in collaboration with the Head of School. Oversee the daily operations of the athletic program, including scheduling and athletic events, managing equipment and uniforms, monitoring student-athlete eligibility and physical requirements, coordinating facility usage with school Operations, and maintaining communication with school administration. Coordinate athletic banquets, awards programs, and student-athlete recognition events. Collaborate with the Development and Marketing team by providing athletic content, student-athlete achievements, community partnership opportunities, and program updates that support school communications, enrollment, fundraising, and community engagement efforts. Attend athletic events and fulfill responsibilities beyond the traditional school day as needed. Professional Expectations Demonstrate professional communication, organizational, and time-management skills while effectively prioritizing responsibilities and meeting deadlines. Support the mission, policies, and values of KCA through a flexible, collaborative, and servant-hearted approach. Maintain positive and professional relationships with administrators, faculty, students, parents, coaches, and community members. Physical & Work Environment Expectations Ability to actively participate in physical education activities and athletic events. Ability to supervise students indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions. Availability to work evenings and weekends for athletic competitions and related events as needed.
