Coordinating Supervisor - Onboarding & Induction
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
- Develops and implements a comprehensive systemwide organizational learning and employee experience strategy aligned to the district?s strategic priorities, mission, and goals;
- Leads the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of onboarding and induction programs for all employees, including differentiated supports for role-specific staff groups;
- Establishes and sustains organizational culture initiatives that promote employee engagement, collaboration, belonging, professional growth, and workforce effectiveness;
- Designs and oversees employee reclamation, recognition, and retention strategies to strengthen workforce stability, improve morale, and increase employee satisfaction across the district;
- Collaborates with district leaders, school-based administrators, and department teams to identify workforce development needs and align professional learning and employee support systems;
- Utilizes qualitative and quantitative data to monitor employee experience trends, evaluate program effectiveness, and inform strategic decision-making and continuous improvement efforts;
- Provides leadership and oversight for systemwide initiatives related to employee transition supports, organizational development, change management, and leadership capacity-building;
- Develops strategic partnerships and cross-functional collaborations to enhance employee supports, improve communication systems, and strengthen organizational effectiveness;
- Oversees the development and implementation of employee recognition programs and engagement opportunities that foster a positive and inclusive workplace culture;
- Supervises and supports assigned staff, manages program budgets and resources, and ensures compliance with district policies, procedures, and applicable regulations related to organizational learning and employee experience initiatives; and
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required.
- Demonstrated expertise in continuous improvement frameworks or methodologies;
- Knowledge of system-wide and school improvement planning;
- Demonstrated leadership and administrative competency;
- High data literacy with the ability to execute quantitative analysis and translate metrics into visual insights and displays;
- Knowledge of systems thinking, school organizational structures, and leverage points to drive organizational change;
- Knowledge of latest research, best practices, developments and techniques in continuous improvement;
- Ability to weave federal and state reporting requirements (i.e., ESSA, Title I) into the improvement process;
- Skilled facilitator of professional learning and organizational change and capable of coaching diverse teams;
- Effective planning and organizational skills;
- Ability to manage competing priorities and meet rigorous deadlines;
- Effective communication (oral and written) as well as human relations skills;
- Proficiency in navigating federal and state reporting (i.e., ESSA, Title I) and school improvement regulatory requirements;
- Experience working with state, county and/or federal agencies; and
- Demonstrated advanced proficiency in Google Workspace and instructional technologies.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Master's degree from an accredited college or university in educational leadership, administration, human resources, organizational leadership, or a closely related field required; Doctorate preferred. A minimum of five (5) years of successful administrator or central office leadership experience required.
CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Holds or is eligible for a valid professional license in Administrator I (historical) or Supervisor of Instruction, Assistant Principal, or Principal issued by the Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE); Administrator II preferred.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Oversees and provides guidance and direction to assigned personnel.
