Bridges is seeking a passionate, creative
SPECIAL EDUCATION DIRECTOR
to lead our Special Purpose Private School in Bangor! Referrals come through partnerships with local districts, allowing us to support elementary students whose educational needs require a more specialized setting. Our approach is neurodiversity-affirming, trauma-informed, and centered on the belief that every child deserves an education that fits. We individualize instruction and programming based on each student's strengths, needs, and interests. The Director will provide leadership and supervision to a team of three teachers while serving as an active member of the agency management team. This role is ideal for a collaborative leader who enjoys being visible and engaged by supporting teachers in their classrooms, guiding IEP development, strengthening curriculum and instruction, partnering with families, and ensuring high-quality, compliant services.

Requirements:
QUALIFICATIONS
Master's degree in Special Education, Educational Leadership, or similar field 030 Preferred, 035 or 282 to be considered Experience working as an administrator or teacher in a school setting Experience with academic testing a plus Must obtain Safety-Care certification within 30 days of hire (agency provided) Valid State of Maine Driver's License, reliable transportation with proof of registration and insurance, and willingness to use own transportation for work.
