JOB DESCRIPTION
Under the direction of the Senior High School Principal, the Senior High School Associate Principal/Athletic Director serves as an instructional/educational leader, responsible for supporting student learning, personnel management, emergency procedures and facility operations while also managing the implementation of building level athletic programming in alignment with district and MHSAA expectations, policies and procedures. This is a 44-week administrative position.Reports To:
Senior High School Principal Qualifications:
Master's Degree in Administration from an accredited institution with a major in Education Administration, or its equivalent preferred. State of Michigan administrative certification required, or willingness and ability to obtain. State of Michigan teacher certification preferred. Worked successfully for a period of at least (5) years in the educational field. Demonstrated record of improved student achievement. Ability to problem solve, critically think and resolve issues. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Ability to positively collaborate with all stakeholders- students, staff, parents, community. Comprehensive understanding of MHSAA rules, regulations, and guidelines. High school coaching experience.Responsibilities:
ASSOCIATE
PRINCIPAL- Ensure excellence through equity and access for all students. Support and assist in the implementation of state standards, standards for college and career readiness and district curriculum of high schools in all subjects. Support and promote the use of digital learning tools including a learning management system, student information system, grade book, and collaboration services. Support and promote the development of digital content and the use of assessment tools to measure student learning. Support and promote the analysis of historical and real-time data to drive educational decisions. Assist in supervising the development and implementation of the school improvement plan, help to align the plan with the District's vision, mission, initiatives and district improvement plan. Assist with teacher performance evaluation. Assist in the implementation and delivery of in-depth and on-going professional development to support instructional strategies. Assist with facilitation of standardized testing. Monitor and assess the performance of the students through data analysis. Student discipline. Communicate regularly with all stakeholders using a variety of media. Attend, supervise and participate in school and district activities including but not limited to graduation, extracurricular activities and conferences. Positively influence and support a culturally diverse educational community. Create and maintain a safe environment for all stakeholders. Perform such other duties as assigned.ATHLETIC
DIRECTOR- Work collaboratively with the District Director of Athletics to implement high quality athletic programming. Develops, monitors, implements, and analyzes all aspects of athletic budget. Administers and manages the operation of the high school athletic program in compliance with district policy. Organizes, directs, and promotes an interscholastic athletic program that adheres to MHSAA rules and regulations. Scheduling of contests, event workers, and transportation Supervision of coaching staff. Supervision and coordination of event staff. Assists the principal in recruiting, screening and recommending qualified candidates for athletic personnel in the high school. Supervises the maintenance of files and records on athlete physicals, athlete insurance program, and participation. Assumes responsibility for the safety, administration, and maintenance of athletic facilities and equipment. Student athlete eligibility oversight. Student athlete discipline. Conducts seasonal coaches and parent meetings over rules, regulations, and expectations that include but are not limited to the Student Athlete Code of Conduct, M.H.S.A.A., eligibility, and code violations. Attend and supervise events in collaboration with building administrative team and other event personnel. Acts as liaison between coaches and building parent booster groups.
