Possesses or currently working towards a Michigan Administrative Certificate (ES) Possess a teacher certification in secondary education Successful teaching experience at the middle/high school level Master's degree in education administration (Preferred) Successful administrative or leadership experience at the secondary level (Preferred) A broad range of experiences in school improvement, site-based management, curriculum, special education, and strategic planning (Preferred) Demonstrated ability to foster and maintain positive relationships and climate with parents, students, staff, colleagues, and the community (Preferred) Excellent communication and collaborative leadership skills (Preferred) Proficient technological skills (Preferred)Job Description:
Provide leadership, direction, supervision, and guidance to all middle school personnel Hire, train, and evaluate building personnel Model appropriate techniques for working with children, parents, and staff Maintain a personal professional-development plan to ensure continuous quality improvement Promote a positive school climate and develop collaborative relationships with staff, students, parents, parent groups, and community organizations to encourage a growth mindset, including implementing Positive Behavior Support (PBIS) Implement and evaluate core instructional programming Promote, support, and implement the professional learning community (PLC) model for collaboration, inquiry, and research among MS staff Work with the Director of Curriculum and Instruction to coordinate/lead professional development for building staff Ensure that teachers understand and deliver instruction through the utilization of the District's approved curriculum and provide appropriate assessments to ensure student learning and growth Support and implement academic and behavior Multi-tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) Supervises and supports all middle school extracurricular activities and events, ensuring appropriate oversight, student safety, and alignment with district expectations. Implement Board, State and/or Federal level policies and procedures within the middle school and oversee updates to policy and procedure implementation, as needed Ensure that staff members carry out and support district and school policies Provide necessary supervision of school-sponsored activities, both during and outside of school time Determine teaching load and assignments Lead building staff in administering and interpreting assessments (state and local, STAR/NWEA, etc.) Prepare the school budget and follow business office standard operating procedures for the procurement and allocation of resources to meet the needs of students Attend and participate in building and district meetings, workshops, and conferences that contribute to overall student achievement, as appropriate Work collaboratively with district directors and building administrators Perform other duties as assigned by theSuperintendent of Schools Salary/Benefits:
$88,000-$96,000 and a board-paid annuity, commensurate with experience, including a full administrative benefit packageStart Date:
