We are looking for a leader that prioritizes instructional quality, actively supports the professional growth of teachers, and implements evidence-based strategies to elevate student learning outcomes. Equally important is their focus on creating an inclusive school climate where every student feels valued and supported, addressing disparities in achievement by ensuring equitable access to resources and opportunities.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Educational Leadership for
Academic Excellence:
Serve as the instructional leader, ensuring the planning, delivery, and evaluation of curriculum is designed to drive high academic achievement for all students. Promote a culture of continuous learning and improvement by utilizing high-impact instructional strategies proven to increase student outcomes. Lead the integration of data-driven instruction by using assessment results and student performance data to inform instructional adjustments, targeted interventions, and personalized learning approaches. Foster collaborative professional learning communities (PLCs) among teachers, and encourage sharing of best practices, to enhance instructional quality and student achievement. Implementation of District Goals for
Academic Achievement:
Implement school district goals and strategic priorities in accordance with the vision, strategic plan, and School Improvement Plans (SIPs), with a focus on improving academic achievement through effective, culturally and linguistically responsive teaching (CLRT) and learning practices. Develop, monitor, and adjust SIPs to ensure goals related to student achievement, equity, instructional quality, and the integration of CLRT are met and surpassed. Provide professional development on CLRT strategies, ensuring teachers are equipped to create inclusive classroom environments and deliver instruction that honors the cultural and linguistic assets of students while raising academic expectations for all. Fostering a
High-Impact Learning Climate:
Establish and maintain a rigorous and supportive learning climate where every student is challenged to achieve academic excellence. Lead the implementation of evidence-based, high-impact strategies, such as differentiated instruction, formative assessments, and data-driven teaching, to meet the diverse needs of students and elevate performance across all groups. Lead and implement effective program design and student-centered initiatives: Design and implement academic programs and interventions targeting achievement gaps, acceleration of learning, and enrichment opportunities, ensuring that every student reaches or exceeds grade-level standards. Foster a culture of high expectations; hold students and staff accountable for academic success and personal growth. Leverage instructional technology to enhance teaching effectiveness and student engagement, ensuring technology integration supports personalized learning and data-informed instruction.
Data-Driven School Operations and Achievement-Oriented Resource Allocation:
Direct all business, staffing, and budgetary procedures with a focus on maximizing resources for instructional quality and academic success. Use data analytics to allocate resources effectively, ensuring staffing, budgeting, and scheduling decisions support the school's academic priorities and goals. Identify, recruit, and retain highly effective teachers who demonstrate a commitment to student achievement and instructional excellence. Provide ongoing coaching, supervision, and professional development to enhance instructional practices, equipping teachers with high-leverage strategies that boost academic performance. Establish a culture of continuous professional growth, where teachers collaborate to share best practices, analyze data, and implement high-impact teaching strategies. Strategic Family and Community Engagement for
Academic Support:
Build and strengthen partnerships with families and the community to support student academic success, and engage stakeholders in school initiatives that raise student achievement. Regularly communicate academic goals and progress to families, fostering collaboration that supports learning at home and in the community. Cultivating a Data-Driven Culture for
Continuous Improvement:
Utilize formative and summative assessment data to drive instructional decision-making and continuously refine teaching practices that improve academic outcomes. Implement a school-wide data culture where teachers regularly review student performance data, identify areas for growth, and apply research-based strategies to close achievement gaps.
QUALIFICATIONS
Current MN administrative license. A minimum of three years of successful experience as a head or assistant principal is required. Teaching experience preferred. Demonstrated ability to engage and unify the faculty, staff, and community around challenging goals that will continuously improve results for students. In-depth knowledge of state and national standards, results-oriented instructional strategies, and effective assessment practices. Demonstrated knowledge of MTSS and special education. Demonstrated leadership and communication skills. History of implementing educational programs with demonstrated high expectations for all students and staff. Demonstrated commitment to equal educational opportunities for all students.
