Job Description

Diocese of Winona-Rochester is seeking a dynamic and dedicated Elementary Catholic School Principal in Wabasha, MN to lead our vibrant educational community. This role offers an exciting opportunity to shape the spiritual, academic, and social development of young learners within a faith-based environment. As the principal, you will serve as the visionary leader responsible for fostering a nurturing and inclusive school culture, ensuring high-quality instruction, and promoting the core values of our Catholic faith. Your leadership will inspire teachers, staff, students, and families to achieve excellence while maintaining a strong commitment to religious principles and community engagement. Responsibilities Provide strategic leadership to advance the school's mission, vision, and Catholic identity through innovative programs and initiatives. Oversee curriculum development to ensure alignment with educational standards and Catholic teachings, promoting academic excellence across all grade levels. Manage school operations including budgeting, resource allocation, and compliance with accreditation standards. Lead recruitment, hiring, supervision, and professional development of faculty and staff to foster a high-performing team dedicated to student success. Cultivate positive relationships with students, parents, parish communities, and external partners through effective communication and public speaking engagements. Implement fundraising strategies and community outreach efforts to support school programs and infrastructure improvements. Supervise classroom instruction and student activities while ensuring a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment for all learners. Engage in strategic planning to set long-term goals for school growth, innovation, and community involvement. Skills Extensive experience in education administration with proven leadership in managing school operations and staff. Strong background in curriculum development tailored to elementary education within a Catholic context. Excellent management skills with the ability to oversee budgets, fundraising campaigns, and resource planning effectively. Demonstrated success in supervising teachers and staff while fostering professional growth through mentorship and evaluation. Exceptional communication skills for public speaking, community engagement, and building collaborative relationships. Deep understanding of classroom teaching practices combined with experience working directly with students. Strategic thinker capable of long-term planning while adapting to evolving educational needs. Passionate about Catholic education principles with a commitment to nurturing faith-based values in students' lives. Successful Candidates should meet the follow: Practicing Roman Catholic in full communion with the Church with a strong commitment to and working knowledge of the Catholic faith. Master's Degree in Education. Minimum of five years of teaching experience at the elementary level, with experience in a Catholic school strongly preferred. Possession of or eligibility for a state-issued administrative license/certificate is preferred. High level of interpersonal, collaborative, organizational, and administrative skills with the ability to implement policies, directives, and initiatives. Collaborative leadership style, with the ability to work with numerous stakeholders both within and outside the school organization.
