Exempt Position Summary:
The Vice Principal plays a vital role in ensuring the success of students, teachers, and staff by supporting all aspects of the school's programs. By working closely with the school principal, the Vice Principal helps foster a safe, inclusive, and academically excellent environment where every student can thrive. This position requires strong leadership skills, instructional expertise, and a commitment to continuous school improvement.
What You'll Be Doing:
(Responsibilities) Big Bucket #1: Driving School Improvement Collaborate on the development, coordination, and implementation of a comprehensive school improvement plan. Conduct regular classroom visits to assess the quality of instruction and recommend effective teaching strategies. Introduce and lead innovative initiatives to improve instructional practices and student outcomes. Big Bucket #2: Supporting Instructional Excellence Assist teachers in identifying and using resources that complement the curriculum and address diverse student needs. Offer guidance and mediation in resolving student/teacher and student/student conflicts. Provide classroom management support to enhance the learning environment. Big Bucket #3: Developing and Evaluating Staff Performance Conduct teacher evaluations through scheduled observations and provide actionable feedback to improve instructional quality. Facilitate professional development opportunities, grade-level meetings, and collaborative planning sessions. Support paraprofessionals in their roles to effectively assist teachers and students. Big Bucket #4: Promoting a Safe and Positive School Environment Foster a welcoming and harmonious educational environment that embraces multiculturalism and diversity. Implement strategies to improve student attendance, behavior, and overall school climate. Supervise daily school operations, including safety protocols, and serve as the acting administrator in the principal's absence. To Be Successful at
This Job, You'll Need To:
(Minimum Qualifications)
Bring Expertise and Vision:
Master's Degree in Education or a related field. Missouri Certification in Elementary School Teaching and Administration Holds Montessori training or is willing to complete required training Minimum of five (5) years of elementary teaching experience.
