Disability Services Coordinator and SAS Advisor
Disability Services Coordinator and SAS Advisor Department Services for Academic Success Position Description Rocky Mountain College is seeking a Disability Services Coordinator (0.50 FTE) and an advisor for our SAS (Services for Academic Success) program (0.50 FTE). As Disability Services Coordinator, the position is responsible for conducting the student intake process, including review and evaluation of disability documentation to determine eligibility for services and the design accommodation plans for RMC students. They also work with students with documented disabilities and collaborate with faculty members to determine reasonable accommodations for the disability-eligible students' college classes and experiences. Additionally, this position is in charge of scheduling and coordinating all accommodated tests with the student and faculty member and serving as a proctor for testing accommodations. A working knowledge of various disabilities is important, and knowledge of disability laws as they pertain to higher education and students with disabilities is required. Communicating disability service standards to RMC staff, faculty, and administration to ensure compliance with ADA is also essential. As an SAS advisor, this position would heed its mission as a federally-funded 555 TRIO program supported by a grant from the U.S. Department of Education. SAS provides holistic, student-centered services, resources and educational opportunities that support and improve persistence and graduation for eligible students. The position would provide academic support resources or referrals that include: academic tutoring, advice in post-secondary course selection, financial literacy including timely completion of FAFSA, and information on applying for and paying for graduate school admission. Qualifications A Master's Degree in a relevant field is preferred, although a Bachelor's degree (B.A. or 8.5.) from an accredited four-year college or university, with appropriate experience, would be considered. Salary Beginning at $50,000, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
