To be paid local supplement for athletic director while maintaining current assignment. Teacher State Salary Schedule (plus local supplement) and local supplement for athletic director.JOB QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS / DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Applicants must hold or be eligible to hold a North Carolina teaching license in appropriate licensure area. Applicants must hold or be eligible to obtain a school bus license for North Carolina Experience in organizing and operating all aspects of an athletic program preferred. Previous coaching experience as Head Varsity Coach. Experience leading others, including supervising and collaborating with adults. Experience managing or working with an (athletic program) budget.Goal:
Provide opportunities for all enrolled students to participate in an extracurricular athletics that will develop physical skills, build a sense of worth and competence, and foster an appreciation for the enjoyment and lifelong value of sports. Build strong relationships with community stakeholders, including families, local organizations, and supporters of the athletic program. Model and promote calm, professional behavior in all situations, while teaching and practicing effective conflict resolution skills within athletic programs. Integrate, model and measure leadership development as directed by the Leader in Me framework into each sport and the overall athletic program by promoting the principles of fair play and good sportsmanship while developing student leaders through teamwork, accountability and character.Duties:
The athletic director will provide a list of all equipment to the principal on a yearly basis. The athletic director shall oversee and implement all coach evaluations. The athletic director shall meet with parents as requested. The athletic director shall ensure all sports are treated equitably and will advocate for all sports. The athletic director shall provide a means for all coaches to have input in the needs assessment for each sport. (A needs assessment form will be provided to each coach at the beginning of the school year. The form must be returned to the athletic director and reviewed by the principal.) The athletic director will create an athletic budget and will meet as needed with the principal to review all athletic accounts including athletics, individual sports accounts, and booster accounts. The athletic director will develop a budget based on the average of the past 3- 5 years of gate receipts.
COACHING COURSES REQUIRED
All coaches (volunteer or paid) must complete the following courses through the National Fundamentals of High School (NFHS.com) before being approved to work with student athletes: Fundamentals of Coaching (8 +- hour) High School Coaches Concussion Training (45 minute)

- All Head Coaches
- High School Level Rules Course
- Head Varsity Coaches Coaching Pole Vault
- High School Track Coaches AACCA Spirit Safety
