Testing and Accountability Assistant

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
Thorough knowledge of rules and regulations regarding the administration of standardized tests in North Carolina public schools Thorough knowledge of the various tests required of public school students by the NC Department of Public Instruction General knowledge of the principles of supervision, organization and administration Ability to effectively express ideas orally and in writing
EDUCATION AND TRAINING
Two year Associate's Degree in Education preferred Associate's Degree from a regionally accredited college or university required (must include an emphasis in mathematics, reading, writing and content knowledge) Minimum 2.5 GPA required ETTP course completion and dated certificate must be obtained within the first school year of employment (to register for ETTP, contact ETTP@onslow.k12.nc.us)

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
Coordinates and supervises implementation and administration of North Carolina statewide group testing programs and local group testing programs. Monitors the administration of tests and investigates discrepancies in test administration. Provides technical assistance and consultation on test interpretation. Assigns, trains, directs and supervises support staff assigned to testing programs, ensuring adherence to established policies, procedures and standards; assists and advises school staff, as necessary, resolving problems as non-routine situations arise. Attends system-wide training sessions and conducts local training sessions for school staff on proper conditions, practices and procedures for testing. Ensures security of test forms and related materials and stores all testing material in a locked room at the school. Oversees ordering of test materials for the school. Follows all requirements of the HC Testing Code of Ethics. Performs other duties as assigned.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to stand, sit, or walk for prolonged periods of time. Ability to reach with hands and arms routinely. Ability to bend, stoop, carry, push and pull. Ability to transport materials. Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds routinely and 50 pounds occasionally. Must be able to visually and auditorily effectively communicate with staff and students. Must be able to facilitate the evacuation of students during emergency situations and/or drills. Must be able to drive to variety of district sites.
