JOB SUMMARY
This position serves as a resource for targeting high-risk populations identified through retention assessments; monitor and follow-up with students experiencing academic challenges; provide support for other student success and retention activities as needed. Serve as the NDSCS point of contact for students in the Pathway program, a collaborative program with NDSU. Assist with student acclimation including registration and orientation activities and facilitate First Year Experience course(s); serve as a resource to academic program faculty. The Student Success Specialist will support student recruitment, records/registration, financial aid, business affairs, administrative support and the other one-stop student services center for NDSCS Fargo. Minimum Requirements Must support the mission, vision, and values of NDSCS Bachelor's degree in Education, Psychology, Social Science, Business, Communications, Liberal Arts, or a closely related field Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks and adapt to needs of students/departments Ability to efficiently use MS-Office or similar software Demonstrated ability to work professionally and collaboratively with students and staff in a team setting Experience working with diverse populations Preferred Qualifications Broad knowledge of higher education and student development Academic advising experience with undergraduate students Experience with technology programs and software packages related to student information systems (e.g. Campus Connection) Working knowledge of student-related FERPA regulations
Additional Information SALARY:
$48,000-$52,000, commensurate with education and experience
