Job Description
INSTRUCTIONAL LEADERSHIP, CURRICULUM, AND
ASSESSMENTCollaborates with the Principal to establish and maintain a student-centered learning environment that promotes academic rigor,engagement, and competency-based learning;Supports high levels of student engagement through instructional practices emphasizing application, problem-solving, and real-world learning;Assists in planning, organizing, and implementing school programs, schedules, and activities;Supports the Principal in budget development, staffing decisions, and class size configuration;Ensures required student and school records are maintained accurately and in compliance with state and federal law;Supervises behavioral data systems and contributes to continuous school improvement efforts.STUDENT SUPPORT, BEHAVIOR, AND SCHOOL
CLIMATEKnowledgeable of laws and policies related to bullying and is able to investigate bullying allegations, prescribe remediation to victims, and hold perpetrators accountable for actions related to bullying. Leads and manages a comprehensive student behavior and support system, including discipline, attendance, and restorative practices;OverseesMTSS-B / RTI-B / PBIS / SEL
systems and chairs or co-chairs related committees;Works directly with students to address behavioral, attendance, and engagement concerns and to support academic success;Coordinates and monitors Behavior Intervention Plans and targeted student interventions;Supports a school culture that promotes respect, inclusion, equity, and student voice;Ensures all students are welcomed, supported, and provided services fairly and equitably;Enforces School District policies related to discipline, bullying, harassment, and student conduct;Responds to student and family concerns and requests for information in a timely and professional manner.Personnel and Professional DevelopmentAssists the Principal in the supervision, observation, and evaluation of certified and non-certified staff;Provides leadership in the development and delivery of professional development, with emphasis on classroom management, SEL, restorative practices, and student engagement;Coaches and supports staff through modeling, feedback, and collaboration;Assists with hiring, onboarding, mentoring, and contract renewal recommendations;Ensures substitute coverage and supports daily operational staffing needs;Maintains personnel records as required at the building level.
OPERATIONS, SAFETY, AND PHYSICAL
Assists the Principal in managing building operations in coordination with the Director of Operations;Supports emergency preparedness, crisis response, fire drills, lockdowns, and safety planning;Serves on the Safety Committee, Joint Loss Prevention Committee, and District Crisis Team;Collaborates with the School Resource Officer, Safety/Truancy Officer, and local authorities as required;Supports inventory control, facility use, and coordination with outside organizations;Provides leadership during emergencies to ensure student and staff safety until civil authorities assume control.FAMILY, COMMUNITY, AND PUBLIC
RELATIONSSupports effective communication systems between school, families, and community;Serves as a liaison to community agencies, social services, and external partners;Ensures external communications are clear, professional, and accessible;Helps organize conferences, meetings, and interventions related to student needs;Encourages community engagement and use of community resources to enrich educational programming.FINANCESupports staff participation in budget development and communication;Assists in ordering supplies, instructional materials, and consumables within approved budgets;Maintains oversight of student activity funds and fundraising accounts in accordance with district procedures.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIESAssists in planning and implementing events that recognize student academic, behavioral, and social-emotional achievement;Attends school-sponsored events and co-curricular activities as assigned;Serves as a member of the district and building leadership teams;Acts in the capacity of the Principal when the Principal is absent;Performs other duties as assigned by the Principal or Superintendent.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to sit, stand, walk, and move throughout the building for extended periods;Ability to lift and carry materials required for the position;Ability to work effectively in a school environment with noise, interruptions, and frequent interpersonal interaction.
